Dear Readers, We hope that you have all had a great summer and are safely back from wherever your vacations took you this summer. You’ll see below that the summer is hanging on for a little while longer with some of our Consulate activities, such as the last edition of the Summer Projector series and our photo exhibits around the district. At the Consulate we have welcomed several new officers, many of whom will be traveling in the district, so we hope you will have a chance to meet them at one of our many events. Among our activities will be programs for teachers of American culture with our partner Teatr Groteska. In Krakow, Katowice, and Wroclaw we will also be hosting participants in this year’s Women’s Congress in Warsaw, who will share their experiences about empowering women through politics. Finally, this month we will honor the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11. In the ten years since the attacks, the resilience of the survivors and the families of the victims has been an example and proof of the very best of human nature. We are touched by the support we received from Poland and by the numerous events planned this year by our friends in a spirit of solidarity and the celebration of the human spirit. Sincerely, |
Consul General
