Greetings from Krakow!

The Consulate enjoyed an excellent close to October hosting a tour of the US Air Force Band in four different cities – Wroclaw, Opole, Nowy Sacz, and Radlin – and participating in the successful Milosz Literary Festival. We are looking forward to the shared Polish and American holiday on November 11, as we celebrate again this 90th anniversary year of Polish – American diplomatic relations. Of course, November is also a month of remembrance and thanksgiving, starting with the beautiful Polish traditions of All Saints Day and ending with Thanksgiving, both times for reflection and gathering with family and friends.

November sees an exciting change for the Consulate as we take over the responsibility for covering the Swietokrzyskie Voivodship from the Embassy on November 15. This transfer of coverage will allow individuals in Swietokrzyskie to take the shorter trip to Krakow for consular services and will allow the US mission to provide more cultural opportunities in the region. In fact, we’re so excited about the change that we already opened an exhibit celebrating 50 years of the NASA program at the university in Kielce on November 9, a few days before the formal change takes place. Hope some of you will have a chance to see it!

As always, we’re including below a list of other interesting activities over the next month and we remind you that you can always visit us at our American Corner in Wroclaw or Information Resource Center here in Krakow.
