The Cracovia Music Agency is organizing 10th Jubille Summer Jazz Festival co-sponsored by the U.S. Consulate General that will take place 10 July - 7 August at Piwnica Pod Baranami, Rynek Gl.27 in Krakow. The Summer Jazz Festival was organized for the first time in 1996 during the 40th anniversary of Piwnica pod Baranami, Witold Wnuk is the creator and the director of the festival. With each year the festival has been growing in number of concerts and their venues. This year the festival will start with New Orleans Sunday on the Main Market Square. Era New Horizons Film Festival The 5th Era New Horizons Film Festival will be held from 21 to 31 July 2005 in Polish town of Cieszyn and its sister city in the Czech Republic Cesky Tesin. The Festival is dedicated to innovative independent films, which go beyond the limits of conventional cinema. Its schedule, apart from the display of artistic cinema from around the world, also includes concerts of film, club, rock and jazz music, theater performances, modern art exhibitions, lectures, seminars and other projects. The most important part of the festival is the competition. The U.S. Consulate General in Krakow is a sponsor of the event. Gail Archer's Concerts in Poland The U.S. Consulate General in Krakow is sponsoring a visit of Gail Archer, Professor of Organ at Manhattan School of Music, who is coming to Poland to give several concerts in southern Poland.

"American Friendship: Herbert Hoover and Poland" Exhibit in Krakow An exhibit entitled “American Friendship: Herbert Hoover and Poland” opened in Krakow on the 4th of July and will be on display until August 31 at the Jagiellonian University Museum at Collegium Maius, ul. Jagiellonska 15, Krakow. It presents selected holdings of the archives of the Hoover Institution in Stanford, California, and the collections of the Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, Iowa. The exhibit highlights the friendship between Poland and the United States, which was epitomized by the aid provided by Herbert Hoover to Poland after both World Wars.
