February; 2011 In This
Issue: |
Greetings from Krakow! The most famous holiday in February for Americans might be Valentine’s Day, and we at the Consulate do send our best wishes out to all of our Spotlight readers for a Happy Valentine’s Day. However, in February we also celebrate Black History Month and President’s Day. It is appropriate that we are reminded of both the struggles, not only of the famous, but also of the many thousands of anonymous individuals who worked to achieve our country’s highest ideals, and alongside them the men who have served in the most visible of all offices, the office of President of the United States. This year, in February we also celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s birth, perhaps one of the most popular American presidents in Poland for his determined efforts against communism and his support of the Solidarity movement and a free Poland. As always, you will find below some of the highlights of the coming month. Please come and join us. Sincerely, |
Consul General
