Ambassador Victor Ashe Visits Krosno

On November 30, 2004, U.S. Ambassador Victor Ashe, accompanied by U.S. Consul General in Krakow, Kenneth Fairfax, visited Krosno. In the premises of the newly opened, impressive sport hall, Ambassador met Piotr Przytocki, the City Mayor and other municipal officials. City authorities briefed Ambassador on Krosno, its history, problems and development issues and the Ambassador and they exchanged opinions about self-government and municipal policy. After the meeting the Ambassador had a working lunch with a group of local businessmen who represent companies with American capital or who are successfully exporting their products to the U.S. The Ambassador also visited one of two American-owned companies in Krosno - Goodrich Landing Gear (the second one is Delphi Automotive), which manufactures parts of the undercarriage for both military and civilian planes, including the F-16 and Boeing aircraft.
