U.S. Russian Specialist Lectures in Krakow

Stuart Goldman, specialist in Russian and Eurasian Affairs at the Congressional Research Service, provided a keynote address, Ronald Reagan and the Soviet Union - from "evil empire" to "trust but verify", at the opening of a conference on the presidency of Ronald Reagan on December 1, 2004 in Krakow.

The conference was organized by Krakowska Szkola Wyzsza, the largest private university in Krakow.

During his visit, Dr. Goldman also gave two lectures to students at the European Studies and American Studies departments at the Jagiellonian University. He used these presentations to discuss current U.S. views on the present situation in "Putin's Russia". Around 60 students attended both lectures.
