Eastern and Central Europe is one of the most ethnically diversified regions in Europe. Its past has been marked by numerous conflicts, which were often a result of intolerance and xenophobia incited by ignorance and manipulated by the regional power players. After the fall of the 'iron curtain' we are provided with an unprecedented opportunity to heal old wounds, surmount conflicts and begin a co-operation based on shared cultural heritage and humanistic values.
Poland, as a NATO member and a new member of the European Union, has an opportunity to play a unique role in this process, helping to bridge the East with the West of Europe.
.
Project mission:
- promoting tolerance and intercultural dialog in the context of the EU enlargement process;
- supporting the transborder cooperation;
- strengthening Euro-Atlantic strategic cooperation in the region;
- promoting Poland in Ukraine, Ukraine in Poland and sharing the experience;
- co-operation in the field of protecting human rights, freedom of speech, development of free media and an open society;
- supporting case for the further Ukrainian integration with EU and stimulating development of the region.
