Seasons Greetings from Ambassador Ashe
|
|
 |
Happy Holidays and
welcome to the second edition of the American Embassy in
Warsaw’s “E-News”. As we celebrate this holiday season
in peace with family and friends, I hope that we will
all take a moment to reflect on what our brave service
men and women are doing abroad to bring peace and
prosperity to those who have not traditionally been able
to practice their faith and celebrate their holidays
free from government intervention. |

Embassy Christmas Tree |
|
I have personally visited all
sixteen provinces in this great country of Poland. I
like to remind folks that I am not the U.S. Ambassador
to Warsaw but the U.S. Ambassador to all of Poland. I
have seen with my own eyes the faithful, industrious,
and gracious nature of the Polish people from Swidnica
to Slupsk and I am confident that as they gather for
food and fellowship this holiday season they will keep
our young men and women fighting for democracy abroad in
their thoughts and prayers. I am confident that the
collective Polish conscience has not forgotten its own
struggle under the Solidarity banner to free itself from
the yoke of tyranny nor the friends who labored with
them toward that end.
I would also like to take this opportunity to
congratulate President-elect Kaczynski again as he
prepares for the December 23rd installation of Poland’s
third freely elected President. We have highlighted
efforts this month to promote the bilateral relationship
between the United States and Poland. As always, for a
fuller view of what is happening in our mission feel

On November 18, the Departments of State and Justice’s Law and Democracy program concluded a week-long seminar with 16 high level Polish police officials in Legionowo, Poland.
