   Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency
The DARPA mission is to develop imaginative, innovative and often high-risk research ideas offering a significant technological impact that will go well beyond the normal evolutionary developmental approaches; and, to pursue these ideas from the demonstration of technical feasibility through the development of prototype systems.
   

   Scientific and Technical Information Network (STINET)
Public STINET is available to the general public, free of charge. It provides access to citations to unclassified unlimited documents that have been entered into DTIC's Technical Reports Collection since December 1974, as well as the electronic full-text of many of these documents. Public STINET also provides access to the Air University Library Index to Military Periodicals, Staff College Automated Military Periodical Index, DoD Index to Specifications and Standards, and Research and Development Descriptive Summaries.
   

   Defense Sciences Engineering Division
The Defense Sciences Engineering Division, located at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), performs work in designing, testing, and evaluating systems in areas of Electromagnetics, Pulsed Power, Optics, and Material Science. DSED performs DOE and Commercial research and design that is in the national interest.
   
   Defense Technical Information Center Homepage  
The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC®) is the central facility for the collection and dissemination of scientific and technical information for the Department of Defense (DoD). Much of this information is made available by DTIC in the form of technical reports about completed research, and research summaries of ongoing research.
   

   Joint Strike Fighter
The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) originated in the early 1990s through the restructure and integration of several DoD tactical aircraft and technology initiatives already underway. The DoD goal was to use the latest technology in a common family of aircraft to meet the future strike requirements of the Services and US Allies.
   

   Defense Modeling and Simulation Office
The Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) is the catalyst organization for Department of Defense (DoD) modeling and simulation (M&S) and ensures that M&S technology development is consistent with other related initiatives.
   
 

  Naval Research Laboratory
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is the Navy's corporate laboratory. NRL conducts a broadly-based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced technological development directed toward maritime applications of new and improved materials, techniques, equipment, system, and ocean, atmospheric, and space sciences and related technologies.
